For the purpose of these T&Cs, a 'Tutee' is defined as a person receiving tuition and a 'Client' is defined as the Parent, Carer or Guardian of a Tutee.
Registration
An online registration form must be completed by the Client prior to a Tutee's first session. Agreement to these T&Cs is assumed by the completing of the Registration form.
Fees
- Fees for tutoring sessions with Mr Servas are charged upfront on a termly basis (please see the term schedule for dates). Invoices will be sent at least one week before the start of a new term and fees must be settled before that term starts. Mr Servas Maths Tutoring reserves the right to refuse to tutor any Tutee whose fees are in arrears.
- Payments for all tutoring sessions must be made via online bank transfer to Mr P V Servas. Bank details will be provided in your Welcome letter and on your invoice.
- The reference for any online payment must be the invoice number for which you are paying.
Tutoring Session Arrangements
- Tutoring sessions with Mr Servas take place either online via Teams (or alternative platform) or at his home.
- If a Tutee will be participating in online tutoring sessions via Teams then the Client must read the Online Tutoring Code of Conduct and discuss its expectations/guidelines with the Tutee.
- There will be no scheduled tutoring sessions with Mr Servas during Half Terms or School Holidays, but it is usually possible to book additional tutoring sessions during those weeks subject to availability. There are separate rates for tutoring sessions during Half Terms and School Holidays, these can be found under 'Rates'. Any tutoring session that takes place during Half Terms or School holidays will be invoiced separately.
- The Tutoring Session Schedule for weekly and fortnightly tutoring sessions with Mr Servas is subject to change at any time, in which case a reasonable amount of notice will be given to any Client who will be affected.
- The Tutoring Session Schedule for weekly and fortnightly tutoring sessions with Mr Servas will be updated and changed each year; there is no guarantee that a Tutee will have the same space the following academic year.
Cancellations
- If at least 72 hours' notice is given to cancel a tutoring session with Mr Servas, then it may be possible to rearrange that tutoring session subject to availability and at the discretion of the tutor.
- If less than 72 hours' notice is given to cancel a tutoring session with Mr Servas, or a tutee does not show up for their tutoring session, then no refund will be given and no rearrangement will be offered.
- If a tutoring session is cancelled by Mr Servas due to a pre-planned event, illness or unforeseen circumstance, you will be given as much prior notice as reasonably possible. You will not be expected to agree to rearrange the cancelled tutoring session, but should you wish to do so a discount of £5 will be applied to your next invoice. should you choose not to rearrange the cancelled tutoring session then its full fee will be deducted from your next invoice.
Termination of Tuition
- Should you choose to terminate regular tuition with Mr Servas (including due to a Year 11 or Year 13 student finishing their exams), at least a term’s notice must be given via email and fully paid.
- Mr Servas Maths Tutoring reserve the right to terminate tuition with a Student with immediate affect. Reasons for immediate termination could include, but are not limited to, poor attitude, fees in arrears, inappropriate behaviour, repeatedly not showing up for lessons etc.. In the case of a Tutor terminating tuition any payments already made upfront for future lessons will be fully refunded.
The above Terms and Conditions come into effect on the 1st September 2023. They are subject to amendment at any time, in which case Clients will be notified accordingly.
